Larry Nassar is scheduled to be sentenced in federal court in MI on Thursday (Dec 7) after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

The judge in the case ruled last week that there would be no victim-impact statements read out loud in court.

Instead, McKayla and her mother Erin Maroney chose to testify in the form of letters, which have been made public, addressed to the federal judge presiding the case, ESPN reports. "She has transformed from a bubbly, positive, loving, world class athlete into a young adult who was deeply depressed, at times suicidal. At times, I was unsure whether I would open her bedroom door and find her dead". "It has devastated McKayla's siblings and worst of all it has destroyed her emotionally and almost snuffed out the inner light of this attractive loving human being".

Another video showed Nassar with a young girl in a swimsuit, his hand on her hip and his thumb in her vaginal area, the agent testified. "He abused my trust, abused my body and left scars on my psyche that may never heal", she wrote.

THE face of America's gold medal-winning gymnastic team at the London Olympics has revealed graphic new details of the abuse she suffered at the hands of a team doctor.

Erin and her husband were told they were not allowed to stay with their daughter at competitions overseas nor on the Karyoli Ranch, the US team's training centre in Huntsville, Texas named after former coaches Bela and Marta Karyoli, where McKayla says Nassar first abused her.

Olympic gold medalist McKayla Maroney and her loved ones are demanding the maximum sentence for former USA Gymnastics Dr. Larry Nassar, who she says sexually abused her for years.

Nassar's sentencing could receive a minimum of 27 years in prison but in recent court filings, prosecutor's have asked the court to impose a 60-year sentence.

Erin Maroney said she wonders if Nassar had pornographic images of McKayla that he managed to erase before investigators seized his computer equipment. I had flown all day and night with the team to get to Tokyo. I know this also haunts my daughter. "If he is ever allowed to reenter society he will not hesitate to reoffend", one victim writes in the prosecution's presentencing memo. "This is what our family must live with and it will never go away".

McKayla Maroney says the abuse took place at the famed Karolyi Ranch, which served as the national training center for USA Gymnastics.

"This experience has shattered McKayla", Erin Maroney wrote in one of the letters, via ESPN. "She was 15 years old". She said to me, "Mom I thought I was going to die". "If Michigan State University, USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee had paid attention to any of the red flags in Larry Nassar's behaviour, I never would have met him, I never would have been "treated" by him and I never would have been abused by him", McKayla Maroney wrote.

He has also pleaded guilty to 10 counts of sexual assault in two other cases in MI, admitting that he abused young athletes under the guise of offering medical treatment.
