The couple's appearance is to raise awareness of HIV/Aids as they visit the Nottingham Contemporary gallery, which is hosting a Terrence Higgins Trust World Aids Day charity fair.

One cheeky bystander asked Harry how it felt, as a ginger, to be with Meghan, but rather than having the heckler arrested for high-treason, the Prince laughed it off and quipped: "It's great, isn't it?"

Her outfit perfectly co-ordinated with Prince Harry's - he wore a smart navy coat and cream scarf.

It will be the first of many such engagements that Markle will undertake: On Friday she carried out her duties with enthusiasm, gripping the hands of cheering crowds as they lined the short route.

The couple then travelled to the nearby Nottingham Academy, in the Mapperley area of the city.

A year later, he established the Full Effect programme, which aims to stop youth violence in the city.

It has also been announced that Ms Markle intends to become a British citizen and will work towards it in the coming years.
