Gautham Menon Met with Car Accident in Chennai, Director suffers Minor Injuries

In yet another accident involving a celebrity, director Gautham Vasudev Menon allegedly rammed his vehicle into the centre median at Chemammenchery during the early hours of Thursday. Reportedly, The incident occurred at 3.30 am on Thursday, near Chennai's Sholinganallur signal. The luxury auto, which collided head on with the lorry, is barely recognizable.

Luckily, Menon escaped with minor injuries.

The director was travelling Mahabalipuram to Chennai in his Mercedes Benz.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Gautham Menon was neither under the influence nor he was over speeding.

Passers-by who witnessed the accident informed the police and a patrol team rushed to the spot.

Gautham Vasudev Menon, or GVM, as he is popularly called, is known for films like Kaakha Kaakha (2003), Vaaranam Aayiram (2008) and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010).

Tamil Nadu leads the country in the total number of road accidents (71,431 incidents) and registered the second-highest number of deaths (17,218) due to accidents among all the states in India in 2016. Currently, Menon has been directing "Dhruva Natchathiram" starring Chiyaan Vikram in lead role.

Gautham Menon also has a web series lined up under his home banner Ondraga Entertainment, which will be released on YouTube on Friday.
