Everton boss Allardyce to miss Europa League game at Apollon

Everton boss Sam Allardyce is set to make a number of changes for his side's trip to Apollon Limassol on Thursday night, and could give out as many as five debuts, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jordan Pickford are among them, with Allardyce conscious of Sunday's Merseyside derby, and Schneiderlin's presence on the other side of the continent could be interpreted as a reflection of his place in the Goodison Park pecking order.

As a result, Schneiderlin, as well as teammate Kevin Mirallas, was left out of the squad that beat Watford 3-2 at Goodison Park.

The new Toffees boss will miss the match due a "pre-arranged medical appointment".

Labelling the reports about the bust up as "fake news", he added: "That is the only thing I will say about it because I want to turn the page".

"First I read about it in the newspaper and I was as surprised as I could be because there was no incident", he said. I have to deal with it. Like I said, I want to prove something in every game.
