A Garda has been shot in north Dublin this morning

Three people have been arrested after a shooting in which a member of the Irish Garda was shot.

A Garda and another man have been injured as a result of a shooting in Ballymun on Thursday morning.


Gardaí are now at the scene of a shooting in Ballymun.

The incident happened in the Barnwell Drive area of Ballymun.

Independent.ie reported that one member of the ERU was shot in the arm while another man was shot in the shoulder.

The officer and the man have been brought to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardaí are continuing to question a man in connection with a €1.6m drug seizure in Co Dublin on Tuesday. They have taken to hospital for treatment.

Ireland's Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan sent his best wishes to the injured garda.

Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The Garda Ombudsman was informed of the incident, a standard procedure when gardai discharge firearms.
