The Jahlil Okafor saga has come to an end.

The Nets will send forward Trevor Booker to the 76ers for Okafor, guard Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-round pick from the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Philadelphia had shopped Okafor to several teams this season, but found a partner with the Nets while also receiving a reliable frontcourt asset in Booker.

Okafor, who has played in just two games this season, said last month he had asked the 76ers for a buyout because he wants to find a team where he "can play". The former third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft has only played in two games this season, averaging five points and 4.5 rebounds on 44.4 per cent shooting.

Okafor figures to see significant playing time for the Nets, whether it be as a starter or as a sixth or seventh man off the bench.

The 76ers waited way too long to deal Okafor, and as a result, they received absolutely nothing of value in return for a player they used a high lottery pick on. He averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game as a rookie, and the rebuilding Nets are clearly ready to take a risk on the 6-11 center.
