Tip-over hazard prompts more IKEA recalls

So far, Ikea has received 186 reports of "tip-over" incidents involving the chests and dressers, 91 of which injured children.

The recalled products pose a tip-over and entrapment hazard that can result in death or injuries to children. IKEA is offering free pickup for those who want to return dressers or free in-home anchoring service on request.

The company has received eight reports of children being killed by falling units - including the most recent one in May when a 2-year-old boy in California was trapped under a three-drawer MALM chest.

Petersson said that company emailed 13 million people about the recall two months ago, but they are now heightening awareness of the recall "because we think that it's so important to reach as many people as possible".
