Rita Ora went on The Voice Germany and nobody recognised her

Because a certain Rita Ora decided that she was going to take to the stage and "audition" on the German version of the show - singing one of her hits no less - in a bid to fool them into thinking she was a potential contender.

But when they all turned their chairs to see who that voice belonged to, none of them could believe it.

After finishing her song, Rita said: "I am a 26-year-old aspiring musician from London. I can't tell you, I am so nervous it's not even amusing", she told the judges. One of the panel, singer Mark Forster, remarked: "It sounded nearly like the original!"

One of the judges then remarked: 'You're kidding us.

After showering Ora with praise, they ask her her name and age before breaking out laughing at the fact that they didn't recognize her. Rita had to reveal the prank herself, but they were still a little baffled, with one of them asking whether she was a double.

The artist pretended to be a musical hopeful during the blind auditions behind the judges' backs, but it seems like the German panel didn't have the foggiest who she was. Before, I said: "She could be the third-place in a lookalike contest".

The "I Will Never Let You Down" hitmaker promised she'd return to The Voice Germany as a coach. "Second place in a sound-a-like contest'".

Ora was a judge on the British version of the show for series four in 2015.
