Kyle Busch not exactly happy with second in NASCAR finale

"I guess", he said with a telltale shrug, forcing one last smile. But through it all, Truex, 37, won eight times.

Stewart owns race tracks, teams, a sprint car series and did what he wanted this year in NASCAR on his own terms.

Truex will compete against Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Ford EcoBoost 400 at 1 p.m. Sunday. That's Hall-of-Fame company for Truex, even if he doesn't win the title. Late in the season, he started to improve for a simple reason - the team stopped telling him how to drive and he stopped telling them that the cars stunk and they need to be fixed.

"Just a dream season". "Everybody wanted to say, 'Oh, what's Truex going to do, he has no championships.' 'What's the 78 going to do, are they going to buckle under pressure?'"

The results have been nothing short of magical.

In his post-race interview, Busch was clearly dejected, and as he got up to walk away from the interview after it had concluded, he made than known by dropping a comment about a possible retirement - before next season starts.

It's unbelievable to many that a team based in Denver could win the title.

Earnhardt is rooting for long-time friend Martin Truex win the Cup championship Sunday. Penske won the IndyCar title in September.

Truex's victory also denied Ford its third win of the weekend. OK, watch the Xfinity race.

Atlanta Falcons edge Seahawks when tying field goal attempt comes up short
Blair Walsh's last-minute field goal attempt came up short as the Atlanta Falcons beat the Seattle Seahawks 34-31. By game's end, the discussion was about Atlanta and its ability to win in a different way.

Real Madrid 'want Joachim Low as Zinedine Zidane replacement'
In his pre-match press conference, Zidane acknowledged that Benzema has to do more to end his six-match goalless drought. Ramos was left out of the travelling squad, while there was no place for Gareth Bale and Keylor Navas as well.

Saoirse Ronan hosting Saturday Night Live December 2; U2 performing
Saoirse Ronan will present the iconic U.S. hit show Saturday Night Live on 2 December with music provided on the night by U2. There are no announcements yet about the hosts for the remaining December episodes besides Ronan.

Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (CTMP), which hosted the first Sprint-X races back in 2016, will not host a Sprint-X race in 2018.

And right now all signs seem to point to Martin Truex, Jr.

"A lot of it was for (Pollex)".

For Truex and Pollex, it shows that hard work and faith can reap dividends. I'm better than I was.

When the NBC reporter said it still had been a successful season, Busch smirked like the gymnast McKayla Maroney when she received a silver medal instead of gold at the Olympics.

Furniture Row Racing owner Barney Visser is sidelined in Colorado, recovering from surgery and unable to travel after suffering his own heart attack a week ago. Race team member, Jim Watson, died suddenly during one race weekend. Earlier this year, the last two Touring Car races were held on the undercard of the California 8 Hours at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Also, I'll remember this as one of the dominant non-title seasons, which are more common than you'd think. In a way, it's good to see a driver go out with something still left in the tank as opposed to riding in a semi-competitive ride.

"That'd be crazy. You would drive yourself insane if you tried to rest everything on this 1 race", crew chief Cole Pearn said. Ford has no plans for a redesign.

"We try to do as much as we can with our foundation and Sherry Strong to help other people, and I keep telling Martin if we continue to do that, good things will happen to us, and this is the best thing that could happen".

And he's chasing Truex, who has taken his Furniture Row Racing team to a level beyond the alliance it has with Joe Gibbs Racing. Earnhardt retired after his 25th-place finish.
