In the latest scandal surrounding the annual lingerie show, Katy Perry has reportedly been "banned from China indefinitely", and won't be able to perform during the runway show, according to Page Six.

Yesterday, Gigi Hadid announced she wouldn't be participating in Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this year in China and it's rumored it's because she couldn't secure a visa. During the same performance, Perry went on to wave a Tawainese flag.

Hadid, who was number five on Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid female models previous year, earning $9 million, had expressed her participation in the show in August.

Sources exclusively told Page Six on Thursday that the "Swish Swish" singer had tried applying for a visa to enter the communist nation, but was denied by Chinese officials. At the time, the sunflower had just been adopted by anti-China protesters as a symbol; this, apparently, is enough to prompt officials to ban her from the country for life.

Earlier this fall, the Shanghai Municipal Culture, Radio Broadcasting, Film and Television Administration released a document revealing that Taylor Swift and Harry Styles had obtained work authorization for a Shanghai show on November 20.

Hadid did not give a reason and Victoria's Secret refused to comment on the issue.

Others are highly upset that Gigi is out of the show, and they're blaming Victoria's Secret for her absence using the hashtag #VSShowIsOver. In the video, Gigi is shown squinting her eyes while holding a Buddha, which was seen as extremely offensive. "I have learned to be very careful of how my actions can come off or be portrayed, and I'm hopeful you'll accept my apology", the post said.
