Jack Sock beats Marin Cilic in straight sets at ATP Finals

The Croatian led Sock by the same margin in the decisive set on Tuesday and was 4-2 up in the tie-break, but the eighth seed from America refused to be beaten and has now won all three matches against Cilic.

Jack Sock became the first American to win a match at the Nitto ATP Finals in 10 years when he outlasted fifth-seeded Marin Cilic on Tuesday in pool play at London.

With Federer tipped to steamroll Group Boris Becker, the mini-battle between Sock, Cilic and Zverev could decide second spot - and it was the 25-year-old debutant who took a giant stride towards the semi-final with a courageous display.
