The ministry had captioned the four photos, posted to social media sites, to indicate they had been taken on November 9 and showed an ISIS convoy fleeing Albu Kamal, the terrorist group's last stronghold in eastern Syria.

The fighter jets of the US-led military coalition were trying to hinder Russian airstrikes by flying inside the bombing zone in the Syrian town of Abu Kamal, Moscow said on Tuesday.

The US refused to conduct airstrikes over the leaving IS convoy.

In violation of a previously reached agreement, attack aircraft of the coalition entered the airspace over Abu Kamal to hamper the work of the Russian air force, the ministry said in a statement.

According to both the Russian and English language statements, the Russian military twice proposed joint operations with the United States to destroy the ISIS fighters fleeing Albu Kamal last week, but the USA -led coalition declined.

The ministry also said that the coalition's aviation tried to disturb Russia's Aerospace Forces near Abu Kamal to ensure safe exit of terrorists.

Earliest known evidence of winemaking found
Testing of the Georgian pieces showed evidence of a slew of acids from wine that had been made inside the erstwhile vessels. Scientists say 8,000-year-old pottery fragments have revealed the earliest evidence of grape wine-making.

Moreover, the global alliance's aircraft tried to impede the Russian Aerospace Forces planes acting in the region, in order "to ensure a safe exit of Daesh militants from Abu Kamal under the strikes of the government troops".

The Syrian government troops' offensive against the city of Abu Kamal has disrupted the USA plans to create pro-American authorities to govern the territories on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The militants had been forced to retreat from the city of Abu Kamal in the Syrian province of Deir al-Zour, one of the last remaining IS strongholds in Syria, by the advancing government troops. "The U.S. are actually covering the ISIS combat units to recover their combat capabilities, redeploy, and use them to promote the American interests in the Middle East".

With the Islamic State's defenses deeply fractured, the Syrian Arab Army's Tiger Forces were able to make significant progress along the Mayadeen-Albukamal Road, liberating more than 30 km of territory from the militants on Sunday.

A joint US-Russian operation against ISIS like that mentioned in the Russian statement would also be out of the ordinary, he said.
