Confirming the ascension of Tejashwi Yadav as his political successor, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad has stated that Tejashwi, his younger son, will lead the party in the next Bihar Assembly elections.

"We (RJD leaders) demand immediate roll back of GST and note-ban because both these decisions have badly hit economy and adversely affected poor and middle class families".

In reply to Nitish Kumar's comments that the RJD was the party of a single family and Lalu Prasad had damaged the political career of Tejashwi Yadav, he said: "Nitish Kumar is without a family, so how can he understand the meaning of a family?" "I am not saying this merely because he is my son", the RJD chief told reporters.

"Tejashwi bachcha nahi, unka chachha hai (Tejashwi is not a child but Nitish Kumar's uncle)", Lalu said, the Hindustan Times reported. Tejashwi, who is now being investigated for corruption, was removed as deputy CM. The Bihar Chief Minister was questioned to continued attacks by Lalu's younger son. However, the recent development received muted disagreement from a section of the party.
