Ben Roethlisberger rails against Thursday Night Football

Just like the Steelers, they have made winning games look hard but head coach Mike Mullarkey has described his players as "resilient" and a touchdown from DeMarco Murray - his third of the game - just about sealed the deal against the Bengals.

The Tennessee Titans will be going to Heinz Field in Pittsburgh to play the Pittsburgh Steelers this Thursday night at 8:25 PM EST.

The Steelers quarterback isn't the first player this season to call on the NFL to put an end to Thursday football.

Ironically one weapon the Steelers might have to fight not just a short week, but what a defense can bring, is the no-huddle. We are a pretty beat up football team and to turn around in two days and go out play another physical football team is tough. Obviously a team with a losing record isn't going to challenge you much so it's safe to say that the Steelers are looking ahead each Sunday to keep themselves focused on the goal. He enters Week 11 with a sore ankle and shoulder but is expected to play Thursday night against the Steelers.

"You've got to let your body recover a little bit", Roethlisberger said. Even a week, you're not still fully recovered Sunday to Sunday. I don't know many players that like it. "It's a tough thing to do, but you know, you've got to do what the league says". "But we've got to do what the league says".

"Thursday Night Football" has been controversial since its inception in 2006, but it doesn't appear to be going away any time soon.

Federal Bureau of Investigation data shows 18 hate crimes logged in South Dakota in 2016
Over half of the religion-related offences were anti-Jewish, while a quarter were anti-Muslim, according to the data. The figures are a big drop from 2015, when the state reported 36 hate crimes.

Roethlisberger makes a very good point.

How can I watch the Titans and Steelers? Their O/U trends are 5-1 in their last 6 games following a win, 6-2 in their last 8 games overall, 13-5-1 in their last 19 games following an ATS loss, 5-2 in their last 7 games on the grass and vs. AFC, and 4-1 in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Steelers, meanwhile, are beginning to cruise in the AFC North, with the only record above.500 in the entire division.

"Yeah, it's miserable, it's awful, they need to get rid of this game I think", Roethlisberger said of Thursday play, via 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh. It's not that he's wrong, it's that he's focused too much on the problems with the game instead of just accepting that he needs to deal with something that's really beyond his control as an individual player.

"It's easier because that is something you have, it's been in since day one", said Roethlisberger.
