After its unusually direct and threatening message to Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the IDF is increasing its military presence along Israel's border with the Gaza Strip in light of fears that terror organizations from Gaza are preparing to avenge the terror tunnel explosion.

The Iranian-backed group has threatened to carry out attacks after the tunnel was demolished last month, killing a dozen militants. The freedom tunnel is not the only tunnel owned by the Islamic Jihad.

"These days, there are still those who toy with trying renewed attacks on Israel", Netanyahu said at the weekly cabinet meeting.

Netanyahu's remarks came on the heels of a Saturday night Arabic-language video issued by Major General Yoav Mordechai, head of a defence ministry unit responsible for activities in the Palestinian territories.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Gaza militants Sunday against attacks as the Islamic Jihad group vowed revenge for the demolition of one of its tunnels that crossed into Israel.

"We are aware that Islamic Jihad is plotting against Israel", Mordechai said. The same for Jihad leaders in Damascus (mentioning their names). You are playing with fire at the expense of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. "It should be clear that Israel will respond to any response by Islamic Jihad forcefully and with determination not only against Islamic Jihad, but also against Hamas".

He called on them to "take control over the situation", as they are the ones "who will be held accountable" for any attack. "Israel's threats to move the campaign to Lebanon or Syria will not prevent us from responding to its aggression", he said.
