Keenum Starts, But All Eyes May Be On #5

Quarterback Kirk Cousins #8 of the Washington Redskins meets with cornerback Trae Waynes #26 of the Minnesota Vikings after the Washington Redskins defeated the Minnesota Vikings 26-20 at FedExField on November 13, 2016 in Landover, Maryland.

The Redskins are 4-4 thus far and have played the hardest schedule of any team in the NFL. If Keenum starts to struggle, they won't hesitate to make the change. However, they are a team that seems vastly overrated. Maybe if he can excel against a nasty defense like Minnesota's they'll reconsider.

A storyline for the Vikings' defense this season has been their ability to limit running backs coming out of the backfield via the passing game, so that will surely be put to the test this afternoon.

As for the Redskins, they're sitting at 4-4, but they need some work to be done before they can think about a playoff spot. The Vikings have great pieces on defense, but you can only get so far without scoring.

Washington was very beat up a few weeks ago, particularly on the offensive line. The Lions have just one remaining game with a team who now has a winning record, and that is of course the Vikings, who head to Detroit on Thanksgiving. Washington is a disappointing 1-5 in their last six games ATS following a win and have been terrible at home against teams with a winning road record and they will need a strong effort from Kirk Cousins and the rest of the offense against a stingy Vikings defense if they're going to not only keep this one close but pull out the victory at home. That group will go against a Redskins defense that's 23 in the National Football League in rushing yards allowed per attempt.
