Britain and the European Union made no further progress in reaching a deal following the latest round of talks last week. We too are preparing for it technically. "Everyone needs to plan for it, member states and businesses alike".

There is something wonderfully appropriate that we are leaving the European Union at 11pm United Kingdom time on March 29, 2019 - because that's when it will be midnight in Brussels.

The remarks came as Theresa May faces increasing pressure at home, with Tory and Labour MPs warning she risks a Commons defeat over Brexit within weeks if she continues to deny parliament a meaningful vote on the final deal with the EU.

Barnier reported that the issues of citizens' right in each other's areas was making "some progress" but said that difficulties remain.

European Union diplomats have said that if the 14-day deadline is not met, trade talks would be delayed until February or March next year.

Earlier on Sunday, it was a revealed that Foreign and Environment secretaries Boris Johnson and Michael Gove penned a letter to prime minister May, giving her instructions on how to run Brexit.

"A failure of the negotiations would have consequences on multiple domains".

"Those are the things that are coming to the fore and the European Union is basically saying that 'if you don't honor some of those previous commitments, then we might be looking at a harder Brexit as well, and we might not want to have such a great trade relationship with you in the future, either, '" she told Sputnik.

He said that it was vital for Britain to increase it offering if talks are to move on to discussing potential future trade deals.

The letter called on members of her team to "clarify their minds" and "internalise the logic".

It is believed to have been a veiled attack on Chancellor Philip Hammond, a noted Remainer, for being soft on Brexit and lacking "sufficient energy".

Marked "For your and Gavin's eyes only", a reference to the PM's chief of staff, Gavin Barwell, it states: "We are profoundly anxious that in some parts of government the current preparations are not proceeding with anything like sufficient energy".

"The Prime Minister will be here right through Brexit, to my retirement as it were until the end of Brexit and she'll my boss for that - I'm quite certain of it", he said. "So I would walk away".

"They accepted that", he added.

However, when asked about the deadline on the Sky News program Sunday with Paterson, the UK's Brexit Minister David Davis dismissed the idea and replied, "In every negotiation each side tries to control the timetable", adding that "the real deadline on this, of course, is December".
