Cornwall falls silent to remember the fallen

Tomorrow, on Remembrance Sunday, Prince Charles will take the place of his mother and lay the head of state's wreath at the Cenotaph.

St Dominick - Remembrance Services in the Parish Church at 10.50am, and at 3pm in the Methodist Church with speaker Ms Jean Ryall.

Councillor Mrs Dorothy Hayes will be in attendance, as well as members of the Royal British Legion. The parade will then march back through the town centre, with the salute being taken outside Webb's House.

Members of the public will have an opportunity to lay wreaths after the service has concluded. Refreshments will follow at the Royal British Legion Club.

Poppy wreaths were laid to pay respects to those who had fallen in service of the country.

Events across Scotland took place to mark Armistice day.

The "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" has become universally associated with the remembrance of those who died in World War I and two minutes' silence is observed. People still need to remember because what we've got now is what these people fought for all those years ago.

Torpoint RBL - In Sparrow Park there will be a two minutes' silence at 11am. Following this service, a parade will form on King William Street, moving at 10.25am to the Corporation Park Gardens of Remembrance for a wreath laying service.

Sunday November 12th: This service will star at St Michael's Church at 10.45am. A wreath laying service will take place at 12 noon and will be conducted at the Hoddlesden War Memorial.

Dobwalls - Remembrance Service at Dobwalls United Church, 3pm. A bus will be available from Darwen Bus Station at 10.10am for depart at 10.20am. The Memorial Service will start at St Petroc's Church at 11am. 11am service at War Memorial and wreath laying.

Morval - To mark Remembrance Sunday, there will be an Act of Remembrance at Morval War Memorial, 10.50am.

HUNCOAT - Assemble at the corner of Burnley Lane and Lowergate Road. There will be a two minutes' silence at 11am, followed by a wreath-laying. Remembrance will follow in St Wenna's Church. Those taking part in the parade are asked to gather in the Town Hall from 2.15pm, ready to leave for the War Memorial at 2.30pm.

Sunday November 12th: Parade and Church Service starting at 10am at Memorial Stones, Egloshayle Playing Fields, Wadebridge. Civic Remembrance Parade starts at 2pm at the War Memorial.

Please be aware that there is likely to be some delays in traffic flow during the parades. Service follows in Truro Cathedral at 3.15pm.
