Katy Perry Gets Stuck in the Air During Her Concert

The pop diva - turning 33 next Wednesday - had just finished singing Thinking of You with an acoustic guitar while clad in a crystal-covered gown and wig.

"This thing is stuck right now, they're lowering me down - they're talking to me in my ear right now".

Recognising the hilarious situation was bound to become a viral hit, she said: 'I know I'm kind of a space cadet, but actually, this thing is stuck. What should I do? Katy then jokingly sang the title of the Ethel Merman song, There's No Business Like Show Business.

Perry (born Katheryn Hudson) - who had in-ear monitor - candidly revealed how her team were making a "whole big deal" of the technical difficulty. Upon realizing that her platform could not land on the ground without crushing her audience, Perry got creative.

"I guess I'm just gonna have to get down and walk amongst my people", she said before clumsily jumping into the crowd and being escorted back to the stage.

The Bon Appétit belter later tweeted: 'SMASHVILLE aka Nashville u were an INCREDIBLE time tonight!

Still, at least some fans got a lot closer to Katy than they could have ever hoped, as after a very long two minutes, she dived into the crowd and walked back to the stage.
