Louise Redknapp on leaving Jamie and how Strictly gave her confidence

In a heartfelt interview, Louise confirmed how the BBC show made her drastically rethink her life, forcing her and Jamie to live apart - as we reported in June.

He was seen smiling and laughing with other players and giving a big thumbs-up.

Louise, 42, said a turning point came when Daisy burst into her dressing room a and told her: "Oh, my God look at your gorgeous body".

Louise is still wearing her wedding ring and a recent appearance on This Morning only saw her reveal the pair were "putting the children first".

Louise is starring in Cabaret - which is on tour nationwide.

She says Jamie had wanted to try for a third child after she finished her run on Strictly.

The 28-year-old was accused of leading Louise astray with wild nights out, but in an interview with Stella magazine, Louise has hit out at critics of Daisy, insisting she's just been a good friend. "He's an fantastic man and we've had 20 good years together". 'I know he's trying to understand that I need to do this, ' she added.

She went on to add that a "sweeping staircase and designer handbag" aren't what makes her happy and that "being fulfilled, being true to yourself, following your passion, they are the things that make you happy".

But the singer admitted to being jealous watching her husband go from being a professional footballer to a TV presenter on Sky Sports, and then a panellist on A League of Their Own.

Elsewhere in the interview, Louise admitted that she nearly turned down the opportunity to appear on Strictly because she had become so used to her routine of looking after her and Jamie's two sons, 12-year-old Charley and nine-year-old Beau.

"I was proud of him, but there was part of me thinking, "that's my world".

She goes on to explain that she felt like she spent years looking after her husband and two sons, Charley, 12, and Beau, nine, and needed to do something for herself.

"I didn't want to continue running around after everyone else, and occasionally promoting a yogurt or doing a little TV presenting job", the English singer told The Telegraph, talking about her days post-fame as a pop star. "Looking after the house and my family was my reality".

Louise Redknapp has revealed how a random comment by Daisy Lowe backstage on Strictly Come Dancing forced her to recognise that she had been left feeling like a "Stepford wife".

"I lost myself", she admitted.
