The 64-year-old gunman Stephen Paddock who carried out the Las Vegas mass shooting and left the world in shock has left several questions behind him.

Danley's two sisters, interviewed by Australia's Seven News and preferring to remain anonymous, said Danley didn't know anything about Paddock's plans. They do not believe she was involved in the shooting, although Paddock did have some of her identification on him, law enforcement officials have said. A LinkedIn page connected to Danley that had also been taken down said she worked as a "gambling and casino professional" in Reno from 2010 to 2013, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

An official said she was returning to clear her name of any involvement in the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

"It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone", Ms Danley said in the statement read by Mr Lombard.

Almost 20 of those weapons were in the Mandalay Bay resort hotel room where he opened fire into a crowd of more than 22,000 people.

"He was doing everything possible to see how he could escape", Lombardo said. He killed himself as police arrived at his hotel room door.

In a statement, the Chicago police said they were working in concert with their "federal partners" and other law enforcement to work ensure the safety of concert-goers.

Paddock checked into the Mandalay Bay Hotel on 28 September, reportedly using some of Ms Danley's identity documents.
