Now Spencer's hard work is being recognized by Microsoft itself, as the current Head of Xbox has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Gaming, and will report directly to CEO Satya Nadella. That reorganization was meant to streamline the company's operations to focus more on selling specific "customer solutions", with video games identified as a core area of interest. He's also led the expansion of cross-platform gaming with Xbox Live, which now counts more than 50 million monthly active users. Microsoft has an event on October 3 in San Francisco, and the headsets are expected to be available on October 17.
